A Life of Wanderlust
After graduating in 2018, Blaque realized that her heart wasn’t in a traditional career—it was on the road. Trading textbooks for a backpack, she embarked on a journey that took her through South America, where she spent two years volunteering and immersing herself in local cultures. This experience not only deepened her appreciation for different ways of life but also strengthened her adaptability and resilience.
The Great American Road Trip
From South America, she returned to the U.S. but couldn’t ignore the call of the open road. She transformed her mini-van into a home on wheels and set out to visit all 48 continental states. Along the way, she encountered diverse landscapes and people, gaining a new perspective on her own country. A two-month detour to Mexico further expanded her horizons, reinforcing her belief that travel is the best form of education.
Conquering the Pacific Crest Trail
Not one to shy away from a challenge, Blaque took on the 4,270 km Pacific Crest Trail, hiking from Mexico to Canada. This grueling journey tested her endurance, patience, and mental strength. But in the solitude of the wild, she discovered a deeper connection to herself and the natural world.
A Nomadic Life in Asia
With no fixed plans, Blaque continues her journey in Asia, embracing the unknown. Her experiences have shown her that the world is full of possibilities, and she remains open to wherever the road leads her next.
Balancing Work and Travel
To sustain her adventures, Blaque works as a hiking and river rafting guide in Alaska. This seasonal job allows her to save up before setting off on her next expedition. It’s a lifestyle that requires flexibility and courage, but for her, the freedom is worth it.

Hey y’all, my name is Blaque Saur. I’m just a girl from the United States trying to see and experience the world. After graduating from university in 2018 with a degree in kinesiology(exercise science), I realized more than anything I wanted to travel. I put on my backpack and I was off. I spent two years living and volunteering in South America. Then I cruised around the United States in my minivan, visiting all 48 of the continental states and made a two month detour to Mexico. From there I decided to hike the 4,270 km Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. And now here we are in Asia, for an unknown amount of time. Travel doesn’t come free, so when the funds are running low, I spend my time in Alaska as a hike and river rafting guide. I’m grateful for this life and the opportunities to get to learn and share with cultures and people all over the world.
